My son was tasked this book by school to read and do assignments based on the book. He dragged his heels and I said I would get the audio for him maybe easier - he declined and then I decided to listen instead, more to get a sense where he was in the story. Boy, I could not get enough of this story. I basically listened to the 7 hours over a 48 hour period and enjoyed every minute. I feel the setting/location for the situation towards the end, rang true to what happened. This brought me to tears as well. I think in this day and age in Canada let's say - i do not think it would be so harsh on the backlash faced due to this incident. However, the book is very well written and relatable and happy to have listened to this book. A great read and not only because of the sexuality/identity explored, but the honest and pureness of this book will force you to keep listening or turn pages to find out what happens next. Great job done here!
