To be fair I only read half the book, but that’s because I could only stomach half the book. I was really enjoying it for a while, though a bit lengthy in my opinion. However as soon as they marry it’s just sex from then on. Like rabbits in heat. And that would be fine, really I don’t mind smutty books (prefer them in fact), but she couldn’t stop whining about getting back to her original husband and how she couldn’t be with Jamie. And yet she kept having sex with him. Constantly. This alone didn’t prompt me to abandon the book, but she was also constantly getting into danger and was rescued again and again and that got real tiring real quick. The breaking point was when Claire was “beat within an inch of her life” by her supposedly sweet and gentle Jamie. I don’t care that it was a “different time” as i’m sure many readers will argue. I don’t want to read about a woman being beat by her lover. Sorry if you enjoy this book, i really wanted to. I cannot stand it though, it actually made me cry and not in the way a book should.
