We kick-off our 7th grade school year with Restoration in the Barrens each year. This dynamic book not only focuses students on the curiosity and wonder of science while navigating the middle school world it also outlines the role students, communities and institutions have in conserving and finding balanced use of our natural resources in the state of Wisconsin. The story provides context for developmentally appropriate student academic and social/emotional development that serves to create a common language for our classroom that resounds throughout the year.
