who will gru be tonight

i’d give this movie about 2 stars, but i put this review in the one star category because no one ever reads the 2 stars. moana 2 was pretty boring. it basically recycled the first movie while trying to add new characters that didn’t add anything to the story. first, the villain. at the beginning of the movie, they show us this bat lady who is supposed to be the villain. they show her keeping maui captive. then later, in a plot twist omigosh nobody saw coming, she’s actually a good guy, and she helps moana escape. the thing that confused me the most about this was the fact that after she shows up and helps them, she disappears from the film. she doesn’t even show up after they defeat the god who held her captive! idk maybe she’ll show up in the 3rd film. i sure hope it’s better than this one. anyways, the real villain is an old god who we never meet. so there is no possibility for character development at all. that was a disappointment. second, her crew. they were really annoying and didn’t add anything to the story. i think they were supposed to be comic relief but honestly. they gave me a headache. i liked it a lot better when moana was on her own. the music wasn’t awful, but it was definitely not memorable. it felt like a last minute effort. the songs felt very recycled from the old movie. the scenery was still really nice though so that was good. if ur deciding whether or not to go see this movie, my advice would be to wait until it comes to disney plus. that way u won’t have wasted ur money if u don’t like it. in the meantime, watch the old one! it has a much more original story, better music, and better characters.
