I read the book before watching the movie and I was so excited to find out that it was turned into a movie!! The book was amazing and I finished it in two days. As soon as I read the last page, I watched the movie. Within 18 minutes, I was extremely disappointed. The plot was rushed. The detail was there from the book, but 100% not enough. It felt too modernized and it honestly irritated me how the movie wasn’t in the same time line as the book. I feel that maybe if I watched the movie without reading the book first, it probably would’ve been good… but the book held high standards and watching the movie after, really disappointed me. I felt as though not all the important, small, details were captured due to the sense of the movie being rushed. I just felt as though the movie wasn’t portrayed the same. If the movie was more attentive to detail and not so rushed, it definitely could’ve had potential. But the quickness and the brush over of important details really drug this movie down. Very disappointing especially since I enjoyed the book so much.
