I wasn't a Marvel fan and normally wouldn't have gone to see this film, but my daughter was part of the crew so I had to! And I'm really glad I did as I thoroughly enjoyed it. It captured mid-C20 sci-fi to a tee, being kitsch and corny, with many 'futuristic' things which look very dated by modern standards.... take the 4's car, it looked like a streamlined Robin Reliant - fantastic! It was all very tongue-in-cheek, comical stuff and an exhilarating ride from start to finish, with a simple-ish, easy-to-follow plot which didn't need loads of concentration to follow. Can't wait for the next one!

It's all been said in the other low-star reviews. Two proven lead actors sadly wasted in inept roles well below their skill levels, in a tedious and predictable plot. The supporting roles, far from redeeming the lead roles, were even worse. And whilst occasional swearing is fine to emphasise a tricky situation, the constant f's and c's in almost every other sentence was boring and unnecessary, and underlined how constant swearing is the hallmark of ignorance and inarticulacy. In summary, a truly cringeworthy film, one of the least enjoyable I've had the displeasure to see.

Well, I enjoyed it - the sleaziness of the area it was set and mostly filmed in was well reflected, and the portrayal of the characters' dysfunctionability was pretty good.... I worked in the area in question for 15 years and was glad when I relocated to the beautiful cathedral city fifteen miles away! Given the rather bland ending, a sequel is needed!

Great series - most enjoyable and a very good interpretation of the book.

A bit of a tall story with a far-fetched but intriguing plot - a thoroughly enjoyable watch. My criteria for a good film.... one I'd watch again, such as this one.

The quirky, somewhat slow start I found off-putting, but I'm glad I persevered.... it eventually gets going and, horse!, is it funny - to me, anyway! Would I watch again - definitely, and for me that's the sign of a good film. Some may find it silly, but then I always liked laugh-out-loud silly 😄!

It was ok.... a bit slow, a bit predictable, a bit of a weak storyline - and there was, in my view, far too much singing, which turned it from a film into a musical (which I've never been that keen on, but at least it was not as bad as Les Miserables in this respect). I enjoyed both the previous Wonka films far more and could watch them again and again. But not this one.

I enjoyed the film as an adventure romp rather than an historic authenticity - the photography is great and the battle scenes are captivating.... but then, I used to paint model soldiers from the Napoleonic era and play 'wargames' with the same (it's like big version of chess). The main thing that lets it down for me is Napoleon's American accent - how cheesy is that! French with subtitles would be ideal or at least English with a French accent. But, overall, enjoyable and I'd watch it again.
