This was a chilling satire with a fantastic and accessible political commentary on its allegorical critique of climate change. The reason why I dropped it one star was because I want to know why McKay, intentionally portrayed a FEMALE president as an ruthless, psychopath with the qualities of a white, wealthy, man such as Trump. If this is a commentary on America why not address the fact that America to date has never had a female president? I feel this doesn’t sit with well with the commentary of liberalism pathos. Despite controversial hap-hazardous editing, it didn’t really ruin the film and could arguably be more of an immersive effect at times create a sense of rhythm, pace and sharpness. Thank you for this film.

I thought I was not going to like this film because of its weird cover page and daggy post-modern title. However, as I began watching the film, I became intrigued by its level of intensity and complexity that Mills imbues each of his female and male characters with. There is an extraordinary wealth of knowledge and appreciation of the multifaceted aspects of the human condition. It journeys into the interiority of our consciousness, rattling and startling its audience with new insights through postmodern film techniques. Mills layers the modernist context of ambivalence within the human identity on top of his already densely constructed characters. A truly remarkable film!
