If you like stories about significant historic events, outdoor adventures or stories that at times include gripping terror - then you’ll enjoy reading “Man Eaters of Kumaon” by Jim Corbett.
I first encountered this book at age 14, now many decades ago. It made an indelible impression upon me to the extent that thirty years after that event I sought it out and purchased this book. Over recent years I’ve reread it several times; it’s just that entrancing.
Jim Corbett describes in detail how he hunted man eating tigers in northern India during the early 1900s, on foot over terrain that is steep beyond belief, and within view of the Himalayan mountains, the tallest in the world.
Not to be trifled with these man eaters individually killed and ate several hundred persons before they met Corbett. Let him tell you about it.
