I would give it above 5* if I could. Undeniable, and wonderfully dark... you simply can't turn your back on it, no matter how unbearable it gets.
Stunning transformation & dedication to the role. It stands alone, far enough from the franchise, while softly & quietly making the connection to The Batman...
Nothing like it out there. Plenty on criticism surrounding it, about violence or the choice of music. To them I say : strap a pair, and move on. there are plenty movies cuts and levels above this in the ''violent'' department, but they slipped in the cinema or small screen with no fuzz&buzz.
People don't require fictitious violence to become violent. If one is violent , one is violent through choice and not due to a comic book.
It's simply the struggle of a mental patient the society binned & discarded in favor or other ''programs''. If there is any lesson or deeper meaning, as people seem to search for that avidly nowadays, the lesson is that society itself will produce this ''erratic'' behavior through neglect.
As for the music selection, it was truly epic. Garry Glitter has an undeniable tune and amazing sounds ; the all the moaners : separate his music from his personal life.
Strap a pair & enjoy the ride ! it's literally crazy !
