Taylor Ainsworth

While by no means the worst of the franchise it's not a very good entry. You can see a lot of creativity and inspiration in the scenarios presented to that are attempting to inspire horror and intensity but the film is held back by poor character and plot writing. The acting and effects are the major selling points as it all feels right at home in the Alien setting. Unfortunately much of the plot comes down to constant coincidence carrying it along and dumb luck. Most of the characters are some of the dumbest people you could have put into the scenario making terrible choices left and right in order to manufacture additional drama.

Mediocre show that didn't bother to adapt much of the game lore or mechanics at all even when accepting the fact that it doesn't bother touching the game stories whatsoever which I think is fine in itself. Animation itself was fine but the characters were forgettable.

While visually pleasing that's about all I can praise about the show. None of the cast of characters have a lick of charisma or charm. The dialogue is cringe often with lackluster voice acting. I find myself asking "who are you as a character and why do I care?" Everytime someone steps into a scene. The thing most stacked against the show is that it doesn't have a notable villain unlike the first prior Castlevania series. The primary villains have zero development or weight aside from cartoonish evil smirks to be overcame in an anime protagonist fashion.
