utterly heartbreaking. A celebration of a wonderful loving relationship cut down by an unforgiving horrendous disease. I too lost my partner (of 18 years) through an AIDS related illness and sat with him as his breathing slowly got fainter and fainter. But I didn't have to deal with a hypocritical church, unfeeling in-laws or my own sense of guilt. What a waste of two exceptional men.

Although not as complex as the book, the movie really has got under my skin. In 83 years of film viewing this is the first to receive the whole 'Hollywood' treatment about two gay guys with a happy ending. I thought there was a real chemistry between the 2 leads and, of course, they are impossibly handsome. The sex scenes were done with courage and erotic.
