Myria Candies got me shivering. The mysterious and charming Elene, her brother Marcus, a confused torn apart James, and the haunting estate. In a place where nothing is ordinary, you are bound to lose your mind trying to catch up with the clues dropped cleverly.
While James was a character I felt both contempt and pity for, Elene enticed me with her savvy nature and sharp tongue. The characters in Black Hollow were memorable. Myria did a great job creating their arcs, and I could feel something special about each one of them, whether it be a flaw or a quirk.
"Who was the monster?" I kept wondering.
In the end, I wasn't so surprised to find the real monsters were the people. Not some object, or a curse, or a ghost, but the people. The real enemy was the human. The human who doesn't think twice before getting consumed by greed, malice, obsession, the human who isn't afraid to harm someone else to get his way.
The book was captivating, and its themes portrayed relation to the world we live in today, and how hollow can the blacks of greed and envy make a person.
If you are looking for a power-packed thriller filled with romance, mystery, and paranormal happenings, this book is for you.
