It’s another one of those films where the younger generation is portrayed poorly. Apparently, we have never played dodgeball as it is too violent. Dodgeball is a highlight of PE lessons though… It makes it seem like our generation has missed out on things when we haven’t. It’s like one those Facebook posts which say “Back in my days we went out with our friends and didn’t come home until it was dark” or “We used to walk to school in the middle of winter.” As if those experiences are narrowed down to that one generation. Overall, it’s trying too hard to be funny and relies on stereotyping which gets old really quickly. I didn’t feel attached to any characters either as they had little personality and were very unlikable. It’s hard to root for unlikable characters.
