If it is set in France, with characters with French names who are supposed to be wealthy, why do all the black actors speak with London accents? And Roger Allam speaks with an Anglais Ordinaire accent? Not a posh accent among them. Why not set the plot in the UK. And give characters whose parents were wealthy an RP accent. Very off-putting. Wardrobe is very important. When the Secretary is out having her “morning run” and is killed by a hit and run driver, she is wearing skinny jeans and a notch-collar jacket…as though she were on her way to the bakery. These details are important. I loved the acting. I am a big Roger Allam fan. Very well cast…just took place in the wrong country.
