I’m going to start this off the way everyone starts off their reviews. I adored the original trilogy that’s why I decided to read the continuations knowing full well it would not center around America and Maxxon. I however feel hurt as a reader. I read about all of the original characters and their struggles only to have their kids be horrible. I just cannot believe that America would let her daughter be so detached from their people and so stuck up. I know America being the fiery person that she was would have told her about her life as a five and her and Maxxon would have raised their children to not only understand the responsibility’s of their roles but taught them with great detail about their nations tattered past. Overall the story is not bad I just had to think that it was not a continuation and not based on the stories that I love. Also justice for Celeste because she deserves more that the women’s room to be named after her. Kiera is a fantastic writer but I felt like I couldn’t understand the characters at all based on what I had learned about their parents. She does and amazing job of creating a world that jumps off the page I’m just kinda disappointed in the parenting skills of America and Maxxon; Marlee and Carter too. I know for sure they did not go through a caning for their kids to turn out the way they did.
