Peter Rabbit 2: The Next Animal Farm
This film discusses and portrays the dangers of befriending older strangers with troubled pasts on the premise that one may be lured into a gang. The film covers the heavy topics of extistential crisis through the experience of a rooster who spirals into said crisis. Additionally, the film perpetuates the message that one must ‘say no to peer pressure’ through the use of the character of cottontail the bunny, who is exposed to drugs and experiments, leading to an incident where she passes out at a market. She becomes so lost in her drugs experience that she claims ‘it will change your life’ when attempting to pressure an infant into this lifestyle.
Overall, we leave with the disturbing message that animals, too, can fall victim to the harsh world of organised crime, gangs, peer pressure and drugs, but there is hope in overcoming these things.
