Most of the reviews I’m seeing are people who either loved the movie because they relate to it in one or more ways and people who hated it because it wasn’t entertaining or terribly thought provoking.
I’m somewhat in both camps here, I relate to the feeling of nostalgia based depression and anxiety of life passing by. I also understand the trans/lgbtq premise being included in ‘there is still time’. However, this was such a bland and obvious statement with way too much build up. I saw it coming from a mile away and the build up itself was lackluster at best, a painful watch at worst.
I guess the concept is a decent/creative allegory for the ideas it’s going for but I can’t say a movie is good for being creative if it’s also boring, emotionally dead and constantly tells the story instead of showing it. 2/5 stars simply for the cinematography and some semi creative use of lighting. The glaze this movie gets makes me want to go 1/5 but I can’t blame a movie for some of its audience being easily blown-away
