This is simply the best game ever made. Remember when Reggie was like "If you don't own a 3DS yet, what's wrong with you?"
This game is just that. If you haven't played this game, where have you been? If you're not even interested in this game, how is that possible? If you'd rather pay the same amount of money for an unfinished game with endless patches on launch day and beyond, what's wrong with you?
Stick it to the industry and put your money towards games like this, that actually deliver what is promised on day 1. I've played the entire plot of the game already, and still have so much to do. In fact, I literally cannot even fathom fitting DLC into this game, because there's an absolutely wild amount of content here. This game actually respects your hard earned cash by giving you bang for every buck you put down on it, and then some.
I've played Zelda games for over a decade now, and that includes playing a good chunk of the individual entries. This game is beyond that. If this game came out without the Zelda branding, I would still be playing it like there's no tomorrow. There's simply no room for brand bias when it comes to what the developers have been able to accomplish here; things like diving from the sky straight to the surface and beyond, without a single load screen? That's insane. Even my younger brother, who won't touch a game he thinks is too fantasy-oriented (he didn't even like Skyrim), was consistently watching like a hawk for when it would be his turn to play. In all the 20+ years we've enjoyed games together, this has never happened.
Performance-wise, I will fully disclose that I've run into occasional drops in frames at brief sections of my play through. But in all honesty? I would be shocked if there was never even a hint of that. The brief times where I noticed would often pass in the blink of an eye anyway. Normally this would be a glaring issue no matter how infrequently it occurs, but like I said, a game like this? If I never ran into a single flaw throughout this massive game, I would be terrified. Terrified, because there would have been no way actual human beings built this game. Even so, Nintendo has been putting out the occasional patch (mostly to ward off players discovering item duplication glitches and the like) that appear to mitigate some of these small issues.
To make a long story short, if you own a Nintendo Switch, this is the the game you want to buy. It is not Breath of the Wild DLC. It is a fuller than full, brand new experience, and you deserve to have a lovely time playing it. Treat yourself.
