There was a lot of whispering in the movie. Kristen Stewart couldn't pull off this part or the accent. Why don't they ever hire a British actress for a British part? I can think of so many actresses who could have made this role work. However, Stewart did pull off the "sick" version of Diana. There was a lot of bad music in the film but the audience could feel Diana's loneliness and isolation.
The movie was enttled "Spencer" and for good reason. Charles only had a few lines. Of course they couldn't have given him a bigger part because everyone knows how badly (and coldly) he treated Diana. By eliminating his part altogether we are supposed to feel a certain sympathy for him for having to deal with an immature, mentally-challenged wife. However, the real Diana was anything but--she went into the hospitals and spoke with the patients with AIDS when no one would go near them; she exposed the dangers of landmines in Africa; she was the president or patron of over 100 charities; she had a wicked sense of humor; and she was kind. None of those qualities came out in this movie. I sincerely hope they skip Charles and Camila when it comes time to hand over the crown. The Brits deserve better.
