I'm baffled by the low reviews. This movie is great and important. Great actors and acting, art direction, writing, et cetera. It's based on history- a history that indeed has been buried for the most part. Timely as well as we see the right wing of mainstream politics in the US lean toward authoritarianism in it's panic to 'make America great again.'

Good art direction and acting for sure. The writing was no revelation though. Like a boring novel the story, while sad as hell, offers no surprises. Boring and sad is a bad combo even if there are some strong aspects.
