I thought the film had too many cliches and racial stereotypes. The typical I'm a black, underappreciated invisible female with "mental illness" and discriminated Spanish "thug". The slang from Mirage was so corny it sounded unnatural. The rap music was too much along with the multiple" Brooklyn" references throughout the entire movie. Yes we get it Brooklynites love themselves. One rap song that was played was released in 1997 after Biggie died. At least get the music right. Yet the movie said it was 1994.
You would think it was about 90's rap, Brooklynites and Tony's Pizza. An advertisement for people to move or tour NYC which we all know is a mess. It seemed like a big commercialized film unlike the ones before it. I felt as though I was watching Spiderman and Tron. The action was great. The storyline development was horrible and rushed. The ending was the best part though.
