Was looking forward to this film ever since seeing the trailer months ago. When it finally hit the theaters yesterday, I made sure to see it in the best theater with IMAX and great sound as my expectations and excitement were high for this one.
As the film started I payed very close attention to every word spoken to figure out who was fighting who, why they were fighting, how long they had been fighting, were other countries involved, where was the US Military?, were they mimicking the POTUS as a past or present President and if so, which?
When the end credits began I still had no answers to any of my questions.
Watching an obese veteran reporter, a well known war reporter, a wanna be newbie and I guess a driver because that is all he did, try to make their way to D.C. to I guess they assume just walk into the White House to interview the POTUS during this war, no less, before the WF militia get to him.
I learned nothing from this film except war is hell and that Canadian currency is valuable.
I'll give a lot of credit to sound effects, stunning at times, but not to the poor selection of goofy soundtrack music.
The visuals were also stunning at times thanks to the IMAX screen I was watching on.
Characters were uninspiring and I could have cared less if any of them lived or died.
I gave it 2 stars only because of the sound quality and visuals.
