Fictionalized account which is fine so long as it is based on historical expertise as far as interactions between the individuals. Based on true events is too far a stretch.
Mainly though the moral failings of these men are left out. Particularly Jim Brown with his domestic violence and Sam Cooke with his rape and kidnapping history. Less so is Ali’s women chasing. If anything, Malcolm X really is where the plot is at. It would have been good to at least have some reference as to his softening of his own racism after his travel to Mecca and certainly his moral high ground to the Nation of Islam.
I love the idea and the drama is good but overall it is incomplete especially in context. Without King’s directorial skills it is a zero or 1 out of 5.
