A tremendous book, written through the eyes of a 9 year old boy during WW2. Easy to read with concepts that a young boy would use. Dramatic in is simplicity and devastating in its outcome for Bruno and his family. Definitely a book to read and re read.

Easy to read fabulous novel. Set in the time after WW1, it gives an interesting insight into post war Australia and the struggles society experienced. So beautifully written, in an unhurried pace. A very highly recommended book, that I think I will re read many times
