The Irishman is a masterpiece in storytelling. Not even the Godfather Trilogy can match this gripping ride with Frank Shearman as he takes us through the bowels of organised crime...with a disturbingly straight face. Joe Pesci impeccably delivers the soft spoken yet ominous Russel Buffalino in what can arguably be the best performance of his career and Al Pacino did not dissappoint in his cantankerous portrayal of Jimmy Hoffa. Scorcese demonstrates a deep grasp of the human condition and spares nothing to illuminate it in a movie that flows true...and seamless. When this three hour roller coaster finally ends, there are no bad men....just humans.
