I enjoyed the series, but there were a couple of things that bothered me. As a native New Yorker (who was there during the 2003 blackout), it was disorienting to see the filming locations edited the way they were. For example, Amory's office building has a beautiful view of the East River, and you can tell from the view that the office scenes were shot around midtown. But the protests that took place, supposedly outside the building are shot in the Financial District at the Chase Building next to the Federal Reserve. We see William get off the subway at South Ferry (the stop at the very southern tip of Manhattan, and as he exists the subway, he's at the South Street Seaport, which is almost a mile away.
The other thing I felt was campy was the way they all pieced the crime together in the detective's office. It reminded me of a scene from Scooby Doo where the gang figures it all out and explains it.
And the very end, adoption reveal is just too coincidental to be believable.
Aside from all the flaws, I was riveted by who actually pulled the trigger. I related to Charlie's unrequited love as I had a relationship like that in college with a very smart independent beautiful young lady who was a great friend, but never felt the same way about me as I did about her.
