My being of Sicilian descent, and last year having spent three weeks in mainland Italia then one week on the Island of Sicilia, I believe the culture of the time and location was accurately expressed in The Seamstress of Sardinia. The themes of societal class, character from learning a skilled craft, and the power of money are somewhat universal in life, but more so in older cultures. Bianca Pitzorno writes beautifully about kindness, generosity and love as able to make life more pleasant for us all. The story kept me involved from first page to last. Well done!
