Twenty minutes into the pilot episode the show seemed very predictable, and rather corny. At this point the production resembles a new version of Columbo. Columbo was innovative for its time, but a remake with a gender-switch lead character who is as quirky as the original, but blatantly less sly or clever preys on my sensibilities. I guess it’s not for me.
Plus, there are far too many commercials on the Paramount Plus app which clog the flow of the show. It’s like the producers knew they needed to cash out before the show was cancelled. This show, with its boilerplate storylines and depressing predictability, doesn’t warrant this plethora of advertisements. Besides, I’m paying a monthly fee for the app and there should be minimal ads.
