Awful, every cliche you can think of ! 2 children go missing , a nice middle class white kid and a black kid that was a child prostitute, the black kid is murdered and the white kid against all odds is saved .
After spending about a week in a sewer with homeless crack addicts the white kid turns up in clean clothes with no apparent psychological harm

This book was recommended by some quite spiritual people I admire. I was very disappointed! It is extremely repetitive, and quite patriarchal. The last chapter concentrates on the spiritual nature of HIM , the higher power and a lot of biblical quotes. Nothing new here , a revamp of yogic and biblical ideology from a very rich author. Worryingly lots of sales pitches for card packs and journals - not very spiritual

Brilliant ! Martin Freeman does a believable scouse accent ( and I'm a scouser), demonstrating his skills and flexibility as an actor. The drama weaves themes such as the concepts of good verses evil and loyalty to your peers verses following the rules . It reminds me a bit of Dirty Harry and Luther , the cop who is just outside the norms of cop behaviour, but still a good guy at heart .
