With a terrible 2020 and Broadway closed for several more months, I’ve been looking forward to this musical comedy. It met all my expectations. Uplifting. Fun. Poignant.
A joy to see Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman (especially after recently watching “The Undoing”) letting loose in a Musical/Comedy, as well as seeing James Cordon and Andrew Rannells’ exuberant performances that gave me goosebumps.
Jo Ellen Perlman (who reminds me of a young Drew Barrymore) made me feel all the emotions that Emma experienced. Excitement. Anticipation. Embarrassment. Disappointment. Empowerment.
Make it a double feature tonight. Watch “The Prom” and “Eurovision Song Contest” on Netlfix. We deserve a double dose of musicals to help put 2020 behind us.
