Can’t recommend. Grim and depressing. Scenes sound serious and important but I don’t know what the characters are talking about. Tedious and off-putting. Beautifully shot. Fussy production values but just feels leaden and self-important.

It’s been years since I watched this show with initial enthusiasm but lost interest. The usual culprits: tone and focus. It never seemed to know what it was trying to do. Odd and not in a good way - kind of all over the place. Emily Blunt’s current The English strikes me the same way - self absorbed, overly confident, but failing to connect.
