She should stick to what she does best- storytelling and chorus writing. I was probably a fan- once upon a time- of some of her catchy hooks. The repetitive notes in most songs (no more than 3), lack of any vocal energy, the constant drag on for over 2 hours of the SAME feelings..it's just boring. She's over 30 years old. Why isn't her music more beautiful and complex? Hopefully when she finds the right man, maybe this one is, she will put more thought into what she should put out for herself and not just trying to be *Lana Del Rey/Charlie XCX/ etc. etc.* vibes. Most of her "poetic" metaphors and lyrics literally don't make sense. Tortured Poets Department? Yep. Torture. Except for the features of the talented Post Malone and Florence (& The Machine).

This is a great movie, especially if you love psychological thrillers. The substance within the main, and most important, characters is consuming. Their growth within a small duration of time is definitely believable and the actors picked for the roles could not have been better. The story is quite gripping especially if you have any knowledge (personal or otherwise) of domestic relationships, home violence & drug use..although with the latter, my in depth knowledge let me down as a couple of things were portrayed incorrectly. Not a big thing but something that could be improved upon. There was a clear tough beginning, harrowing middle story and beautiful end. Being "Shut in" is a title to encompass the different ways characteristics are trapped within their own sins and addictions. I was hoping some parts would be a bit more expanded upon, but I think that's a personal choice. Thanks for making this wonderful movie. I'll watch it again soon.
