Notice how it's either 5 stars or 1, no in-between? That's because it's actually quite an incredible film with great character and phenomenal animation. People or more so the people who were children when the original movie released, are nostalgic and expecting the perfection of the first film. You cannot make a multi-million dollar movie like the first Megamind with less than half of a million dollar budget. Obviously. This movie was amazing and I will be re-watching it many times over!

Worth watching, yes. Disappointing, yes. This movie is SO INTERESTING and has wonderful ideas and potential for something greater but they didn't explore what they should have. Zurg was highly disappointing, as he is supposed to be Emperor Zurg: Sworn enemy of the Galactic Alliance and in this movie, he is not. As well, they present this as "the movie Andy saw as a child" and it most certainly is not since it doesn't keep any consistency with the Toy Story films other than fun quotes.

Imagery was GREAT. However, storyline was confusing and not laid out right, but had potential. Climax and ending were okay. Effects suck. Acting mostly sucks. And music/sound is used all wrong. So corny and bad it's funny. 3.5/10 for good imagry and potential.

Megamind takes it's own creative spin on the villain-to-hero trope, making fun of other various hero tropes along the way, and is a noteworthy movie that will forever be a classic.
