Anyone who gave this 5 stars probably thought the Twighlight movies were better than the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
At the end of any of "The Dark Knight" trilogy movies...I left feeling like I was Batman or wanted to atleast be Batman. At the end of this movie..I just wanted to leave.Â
The movie is defn dark and gritty, there is a deep emotionally stirring melancholic score, the cinematography is raw and stunningly sombre.Â
But that is about it. The worlds greatest detective is always in a bad mood and always finds himself two steps behind his nemesis - The Riddler, who happens to be a pudgy-fat kid--come-social media influencer with a vendetta, Catwoman is sexy and sultry but is an emotional wreck -but atleast she doesnt cry- a far cry from the cold cunning femme fatale the character is supposed to be based on. Jim Gordan isnt very bright and the two other villains Penguin and Falcone seem to be nothing more than upper-middle mangement henchmen. Batman himself is the same charcter as Bruce Wayne...there is no telling them apart.
The film is tediously long, The entire Gotham is corrupt/ corruptible with no hope for redemption. There is a scene when the batlight switches on...where the mere presence of it strikes fear into the criminal element of Gotham, however that hard work is undone as the cops, multiple mob henchmen, and Riddlers army of vigilantes do not seem to fear him much. This movie could have been a lot more....but falls well short of the mark set by The Dark Knight.
