This should be rated higher I'm going to admit that BUT points taken off for the trailer spoilers. Stop putting everything into the dang trailers. This movie could have been 4.5-5 outta 5 if you hadn't told me that the kidnapped victim was a vampire. It's just giving zero effort. You could have made that so creepy and eerie and intriguing without telling us she's a vampire. This movie was great and spoiled by a trailer and it's not even like they waited on a second trailer to reveal it was done up first one. The movie is about a random bunch of mismatched criminals hired to kidnap a rich ( and dangerous) mans child. A nightmare of a night ensues. A vampiric ballerina child is a cool concept and if you hadn't told me she was a supernatural being Id have been so excited to watch, alas. I held off. Y'all know ai hate comedy mixed into my horror but somehow this one actually works. Trying to ignore what I knew going in. This movie had great acting, cool kill, scenes, a little gore, and a heck of a cast. The actors fit and knocked their roles out of the park. This was Angus Cloud's last role and he does what he does so effortlessly. His role is just him. It is what it is Kevin Durand will never disappoint me in life. IDC! Giancarlo is Giancarlo always so regal and knowing exactly what the assignment is. I can go on. The pace of this was wild. I think it was set just right so you didn't get bored at all, however, the end tries to stretch out that was probably the first time I looked at my watch and five minutes later it ended. The comedy is so subtle like you talking in a group to your friends and something unintentionally is funny. That's how I like my comedy in my horror and nothing else. All around I liked this movie. I just would have preferred to have the vampire aspect sprang on me not spoiled. 𝑭𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝑺𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒆: Ballet Sammy. Go check it out. 3/5 for me. Go watch. No better time than October. Niece was in town this weekend so movies were watched but not written about. So! Of the original franchise all 8/9 movies. This is my least favorite because it does that thing I hate. Jumping through the timelines. It's not obvious unless you have seen the movies in order. This is because information is revealed in those other forms but this one is kind of sloppy as far as Saw movie. The traps are all over the place and easily accessed. Like when I say the amount of suspended belief you have to have for some of those traps to start is an extreme amount. I mean that. I promise after trap one and two you couldn't get BOTH of us to walk into a silo and leave someone outside trapped himself. Absolutely not. The gore was plenty some of those still make my leg twitch. The story was kind of all over the place to me. People outside the game, finding the game the outside story the reasoning. I'm just not into it. My niece and dad however seemed to like it enough to watch the other movies 5-7 so I'm guessing they were entertained. I enjoyed the gory nature it did what a Saw movie was supposed to do. The only reason it's so low for me is just because this just had gore for the sake of having gore, y'know. I need a flowing story and that's what the other have as an upper hand. This one like that sorry other film Spiral, brought nothing to the table. It was new people for no reason with a reason for the game that had no reason. But if you want a movie that's just gorecentric and something you can throw on for background Halloween aesthetic I suppose this one works. 𝑭𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝑺𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒆: Pull the lever! Ew. I have forgotten how much I like this movie and how much it always reminds me not to travel backroads or tell my dad... We're not stopping, when we do find ourselves somehow away from the Interstate. Stupid Waze. Anyway this movie is about a family on a roadtrip who let their dad talk them into traveling the long scenic route through the desert and mountain area and they wind up broken down and nightmare insuing in the form of inbred cannibals. (Shout out to Wrong Turn) This is a remake and personally my favorite version. There are very few people who know how to do a remake properly make it fresh and still nail the original premise without slapping them in the face. This is a prime example of a movie paying homage to the original by acknowledge that it was good but now we're going to do the homework and go above and beyond for me this movie was bigger badder meaner more gore and hello it obviously stayed with me I don't backroads. You gotta trick me into it. This one takes itself seriously but not too seriously where you don't have to go "COME ON! REALLY?!" The pacing is perfect. It keeps you on your toes and gives you the breaks you need to recover and process what happens and then whack slaps you again with the next round. No acting standouts because honestly everyone's chemistry is just so glorious that you would honestly think they're a family with the clapbacks they give each other and when their lives are on the line theyre their for each other...as much as possible. 𝑭𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝑺𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒆: The scarecrow. If you by some chance have never seen this check it out but be forreal. Its gross. 4.5/5

Right after Blair Witch Project, this is the best found footage movie. I have seen. Definitely good for spooky season, however, extremely disturbing. The movie is about these homicide investigators that find all these vhs (ha) of a serial killers work over the year full of torture murder and more. Thank you heavens we don't get to see these just the lead ups to them. How he captured them how he tormented them and with one even gets Stockholm. I love this movie as disturbing it is because it really feels like there's no acting occuring here. It's just a true crime documentary cut and edited together as if it really happened and by the end the way they're talking about it you kind of forget that this was a made up movie and are watching it all invested as if it was real? Was the Poughkeepsie killer real? Hm. This one runs a little slower in pacing but I actually like that about it because it gives off amateur film making and sometimes these true crime be like that. Where you're like why am I watching this but you can't look away. That final victim. She is absolutely heartbreak, you honestly just want to give her a hug. 𝑭𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝑺𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒆 : The cop car &  I don't know what you want me to say. If you're looking for a good found footage and a little "true" crime, look no further. 3/5 ℍ𝕒𝕡𝕡𝕪 𝕍𝕚𝕖𝕨𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝘑𝘢𝘺 𝘔𝘢𝘺 𝘖𝘶𝘵

Let me start by saying I watched this on the theatre but it was super limited because it was meant to go to Shudder, but not a Shudder original like In A Violent Nature. It will be out October 25th I believe. Let me also say Samara Weaving 🥲 She's just so good. Everything she taps? Gold. This is my favorite Final Girl of the modern day. They played me in Scream 609 but I don't even care she was in there for minutes. She reminds me a lot of Michelle Rodriguez but just a tame full feminine version. I like MR can feminine but if you step out of line she'll pop some masculine energy on you real quick. I'm getting off topic. Azrael! The story is about a female run cult (is it though!?) of mute zealots that are surviving after an apocalypse trying to catch the woman who escapes an attempted improvement for sacrifice. I don't know how else to word that other than Sam Weaving running through the woods making heads roll for trying to sacrifice her to the demon children of the forest. This movie has a total of five lines. That is all there isn't anymore. No one speaks and you would think that would get boring but it's so exciting watching all the signals hand and other to communicate with each other. The pacing is magnificent. It doesn't get so high that you need a breather but there is nothing that will bore you to pieces and make you glace at your watch. The cinematography is gorgeous. Makes me want to move out into the woods, you know if i was positive no creepy demons or psychos were out there. The kills were great gory but not Saw series torture p orn. The acting is phenomenal and I'm tempted to do a spoiler post to walk through all the Easter eggs and biblical stuff that is so subtle you wouldn't know unless you're into it but also make the move sixty more times scarier. I have always will always love this movie. It's damn near perfection to me. I love it. Sharni Vinson. There's not another movie out there that I like her in, but this one. Chef's Kiss. Im biased though I'm a sucker for a Heroine. The movie is about a couple who go to a family dinner. She's meeting his family for the first time, everything is going  family dinner "great" before a home invasion takes place and things go awry, for EVERYONE. Blood guts and gore. This movie has it all. Twists and turns definitely some I never saw coming. What I love about this movie other than Sharni's character is that it flows so smoothly. It gives me some of what Im looking for in terms of home invasion ( my personal favorite type of horror films ) The pacing is perfect. Yall know I need you to get me to the action then give me a recovery period then get back at me with the madness. The kills are creative. That blender scene 😱 wild. The window 😳. The door! Yall! Home invasion movies are, I dont care what you say, the scariest. It's the only real thing that can occur in the world and therefore I need my doggos back to tell me what I am and am not hearing again. This one putting that spin on it. Honestly. Amazing. The lose of a half of a point is because the ending...depending which youve seen. Boo! Nope I'm not saying anymore. If you haven't seen this, its October. It is time! Disclaimer. I don't believe in Aliens. Idc.Idc (I don't believe in dinosaurs either fyi). Anyway, ANOTHER installment of this series and honestly. Stop. Please stop. You keep getting ahead and then you do whatever you're doing. So again there are five stories in this one strung together by a True Crime/Documentary style thread in between each. Pause. The movie is called VHS about a discovery of VHS and all the movies have been about finding VHS tapes and watching them, but this one was about them finding the tapes and then downloading them to digital and IJUSTdontlikedet! But I liked the pacing. But we move. Out of the five stories I liked three. The first one (I dont know what the titles are) zombie/aliens? I dug that one. Because what I thought was zombies may have been some weird version of aliens? Their eyes are what threw me but then it seemed like they had some form of consciousness with what's on the second floor and that thing reminded me of big bird. Thats all! The Bollywood movie I also dug, it really reminded me of Dusk to Dawn but for me this one's pacing was a little too slow for me. I enjoyed it when the action hit. The acting was good. Fur Babies. I promised that I didn't know Justin was in charge of this one. Yall! This was super camp and I loved every ounce of it EXCEPT! Why did they try to go in themselves? Call the police! You have proof. 😭 They deserved everything they got. I will say I was not expecting THAT twist. The sky diving. I loved this one too because not only was their sky diving which I dont do heights. It had THAT iykyk! I'm not gonna lie when they got to the truck? I screamed. Like full belly screamed and I don't know why. I was tricked. That last one I know it was Katey Seagel's and it was my least favorite. After the other four? I was a bit exhausted and it just didn't have my attention. My eyes tend to gloss over when folks are wondering in the desert. If you dont action me off the bat I'll zone. And I did. I don't know why I like it! First thing's first Rest in Peace Anton Yelchin. He is indeed one of my favorite actors and how his end came was ridiculous. Anyway. Onward. This movie is about a movie about a kid who lives in Vegas and his friends start disappearing and their neighbor Jerry is suspected to be at the head of it all. For me this one is giving a bit of subtle camp again and again well done. I really am not a fan of horror comedy unless it's super subtle comedy to break up the tension not laugh out loud chuckles. Dry humor and sarcasm is my jam. The acting in this is superb for the type. That's saying a bunch considering how Colin used to get dragged in his films about his acting. I think I remember he was gone for awhile and this one was one of his first back and I was pleasantly surprised. He gave hot middle aged vampire without going too overboard and the chemistry he and Anton have in their scenes together are so entertaining. Its like they just vibe off each other and I love when characters seem effortless onscreen. Randoms but Matt Damon is not one of those actors for ME. The pacing was great until maybe the last ten/fifteen minutes it feels like they just weren't sure how to wrap it up. Everything else flowed though. They didnt spend forever trying to make you get to know or feel for the characters they were able to do that extremely quickly with a couple interactions. Get to the point. Love when it's done. What in the hallibaluza? The way I almost turned this Bodies Bodies Bodies wanna be movie off so many times. I'm don't know how I got through this. This is going to be for a specific type of person and thats all. Those Gen Zs will love this. Fortunately, this isn't for me. I was confused the entire time. This doesn't mean I didn't finally get what was going on. I just was initially confused anyway. So! The movie is about a group of college friends getting together for their friend's wedding. The night before the wedding their friend that they havent spoken to in years, but is known for getting the parties going by coming up with games to play, also arrived. They play a game of body swapping that turns into a nightmare when someone dies. I can't say I hated this film enough. It's advertised as horror but this is just a sci-fi flick with a whoops thrown in the center. I GUESS its loose horror. 🙄 Honestly, the story is just so convuluted and I'm sure that was it's intention to confuse the audience as much as it confuses the characters in the story. No one knows who is who UNLESS they have an extremely wide tell about them. One is allergic to peanut butter another only speaks..."ghetto" whatever that is. One is extraordinarily soft spoken and thats how things get twisty when they start pretending to act as each other. By the end of the film you have no idea who is actually who, what happens to the body thats dead who's actually in jail. Like when you get to the credits some of these questions are answered but still for me? Keep it give me my day 5 back. 𝑭𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝑺𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒆: Jailhouse visit. I'm not even surprised at this point. I'm super picky about Stephen King books and movies. I've seen all the movies..and tv movies and I like four. Two are two parters so technically only 3 but whatever. Here we go. Salem's Lot is about a writer who comes back to his childhood town and finds out a woogy boogy stranger had moved into the old abandoned house on the hill. Chaos ensues and its up to Mr. Writer and gang to try and save the town before Nosferatu's distant cousin takes it over. This movie wasn't that bad honestly. I think it's a great movie if you want to watch something spooky with your teenager but you don't want to go full IT on him. I like to think it has the same vibe as It but it's not as gory. It is also nowhere near as funny as It. It was kind of like a simmered down version of Fright Night. The acting was kind of corny. I think the movie was trying to be too serious but they would have done best not to do that. I liked the special effects. I also believe this is good to start getting ready for scarier things but you don't wanna get too deep yet. Give it a look see what you think.
