They jumped the shark. It was like the writers saw the fan reaction to The Last Jedi and said: "Hold my beer."
The cinematography was beautiful. The CGI was beautiful. Sporadic hobbit cameo (Merry) was delightful.
Maybe it will grow on me, but I do not expect it will. I have never been so let down by a Star Wars movie before.
