Ugh, where do I even begin with "The Marvels"? I thought I was in for a superhero movie, not a lecture on social issues. I mean, seriously, can't we just enjoy a good action flick without having to be bombarded with the whole LGBT agenda?
The film felt like it was trying way too hard to be inclusive. I get it, diversity is important, but it felt forced and unnatural. Every character seemed to be a walking checklist of different sexual orientations and gender identities. It's like they were more focused on meeting a quota than telling a compelling story.
And don't even get me started on the romance subplot. I couldn't care less about who these characters are attracted to. I just wanted to see some epic superhero battles, not cringe-worthy, forced love stories that added absolutely nothing to the overall plot.
The action sequences were mediocre at best, overshadowed by the constant virtue signaling. It's like the filmmakers were so preoccupied with pushing their agenda that they forgot to make an entertaining movie. The pacing was off, the dialogue was clunky, and the plot was a convoluted mess.
I miss the days when superhero movies were about saving the world, not pushing a political narrative. "The Marvels" was a disappointing attempt at being progressive, and it fell flat on its face. Save your money and rewatch one of the earlier, more authentic Marvel films instead.
