Season 2
A total mess. It proves that... a cool title just ain't enough.
A triumph of style over substance. A paper thin plot full of holes, seemingly written by children, for children, but then packaged as for adults, with a story which could have been told in far less time, but was, instead, spun out with scene upon scene of tediously trite 'character development'... in which the characters did no actual developing..and which left me sorely tempted to fast-forward through. It was only because of the blurred vision, caused by my tears of anger/embarrassment/laughter (context dependent), that I couldn't find the remote control. The situations became so contrived, particularly with the seemingly totally arbitrary use of super-powers, that for the first time EVER I found myself yelling at the TV. And whilst some of the action scenes looked great, the belief that all those assassins could shoot at once... without the ones at the front getting blue-flagged in their backs... was a suspension too far.
So, whilst I quite enjoyed season 1... the family dynamics in particular...season 2 is, for me, a complete misfire, well, apart from the acting, that is, and the production values, which raises it to a tenuous..... 2 stars!
Season 4.
Well, it's all over now... and boy am I glad it is. What a total load of old trousers! They went for a big emotional finish but only managed to leave a bitter taste in my mouth. I'm not surprised that Netflix cancelled it... good riddance. And as for the post credits 'teaser'... well, what a nerve.
