I'm giving this a generous three stars cause let's be honest...The show isn't great. I watched it once and thought it was good, and recently rewatched it & couldn't get through a lot of the scenes in the first episode alone. The script is so cheesy and horrible in some spots, some of the acting is just plain awful. Gretchen and Johnny have ZERO chemistry and idk if it's because he has a girlfriend irl who also guest stars in an episode but.. his on screen love interest and him do not seem like a believable couple who has the hots for each other. They genuinely just give off the vibe of "hey I'm so and so & you are? oh great we gotta act in love, cool." The only actors that did a great job in this imo are the guy playing Elias and the dude that played Opie in SoA (both were in Sons of Anarchy) and then the girl that played Adriana in the Sopranos always does amazing (and she looks amazing!). Cameron Boyce did a wonderful job and I wish they used him more, his acting was believable and stellar. RIP Cameron ❤️ I love Andy but he was mediocre at best, and don't get me started on Bella Thorne... She has some decent lines but her acting wasn't all that great either. I watched this purely for entertainment so if you're looking to just watch something that's for fun, go ahead. It serves it's purpose. I will also say that the songs are actually pretty good, the singer from Palaye Royal is the one singing when Andy sings (they didn't use Andy's real voice, he lip-syncs in this) & his voice is raspy and so so good. And the lyrics to the songs are pretty good, I mostly kept watching because the soundtrack was really good tbh. I know for a fact that people are rating this high because they're BvB fans and love Andy... but the show itself isn't all that great. Just watch it with a grain of salt and take it at face value... It's just here to entertain you, and try not to pay too much attention to the script or terrible acting 😭 And you'll be fine.
