I have read every book in the Gabriel Allon series, most of them twice and loved every one of them until this one. I enjoyed the story line, but the forced injection of the authors personal political view ruined it for me. Prior to this book, I could never see myself putting down a book in this series without finishing it. However, the ending was so bad, that's exactly what I did. The worst of it, for me, was the infusion of Mr. Silva's American political thoughts had absolutely nothing to do with the theme of the story. It was forced and completely unnecessary. Until this book, I eagerly awaited each new book in the series, sadly that is no longer the case.
