I went into this series with high hopes. I thought the initial premise and setting were great. The preservation of the French language by the addition of sub-titles added a lot to the realism. However, what was missing was a roadmap to the multitude of characters. It didn’t help that a number of the female characters were similar-looking. I saved up the six episodes so k could watch it in a couple of sittings. Had I watched week-to-week, I would never have been able to follow what was going on. The fact that the ending was the way it was sort of says, there’s no way to wind this up that makes sense. It’s like those 600 page books you read where the ending is summed up in half a page leaving you with a very unsatisfied feeling.
