If I could give 0 stars then I would. Honestly, every good review on here must be purchased by WB because this movie is an absolute dumpster fire. The cast is potentially strong but the writing is completely ineffectual. Wonder Woman’s character holds almost no resemblance to the first movie, which I suppose could happen after 60+ years except that she seems to have regressed to a cold, whiny child. Her powers are so ill-defined that the you just kinda shrug your shoulders every time the writer have use her to force some contrived plot point. (invisible jet, flying lasso) Chris Pine is without a doubt the best performance, but once again his character so ruined and his arrival so jarring that the audience is kept from feeling anything at all when he again departs. And let’s not mention the morally questionable fact of his body-snatching in the first place. The villains are ill-conceived and poorly developed. Kristin Wiig’s performance goes from fun to cringe, and Pedro Pascal, while a fine actor, is painfully over the top. Both characters have poorly defined motivations and clunky developments. The plot is a contrived maze with plenty of holes along the way. The finale is slog. The fight with Cheetah is poorly executed. WW’s monologue with Stone Guy is way too long. The defeat of the villains is a let down. And the tie-in to the opening flashback of childhood Diana is totally lost. It’s a relief once the movie ends. I just hope that DC finds some real writers for any other movies. They’ve totally lost my confidence.
