I enjoyed it for the fact that it is Gladiator continued. The tale of what happens after. Try not to invest yourself into criticizing too much and enjoy it for the story that continues, from the original that we all loved. If you take it for its base merits, and the story of what happened to Lucius, the empire, as there are only so many ways this could go, and story could continue. I think they got this spot on, whilst omitting expectations of many, which is the plague of mankind today…entitlement and expectations. If you take the original gladiator movie and hold it up to many movies of today, they would fail abysmally. Rather, take this sequel on its own merits as a story continued. I was very pleased to find out how things went after the death of Maximus. Who was to lead Rome? What happened to the Senate? His mother. Senetor Gracchus, and Juba. All your questions will be answered and you will feel it was done as well as Ridley Scott would have hoped. True ending to the movie that came once in a decade.. the original Gladiator… and closes the story with class.
