Ok. As a Middle School series reader and lover, I feel this book series has slowly gotten more and more unrealistic. I mean the first book has Rafe getting expelled, charged for vandalism and his stepdad is charged with assault on his own mother. Already pretty crazy right? Well in this book Rafe accidentally ends up standing on a crocodile, solves a big diamond heist and discovers part of it was faking cave wall paintings to get miners to stop mining there and has one of the thiefs trying to steal the said diamond from Rafe because he accidentally took it home! Seems really over the top for a Middle School book doesn't it? Also I wish Rafe actually wasn't a loser. I mean come on sometimes I wanna cry for him! Such as book 2 where Rafe has a digital art project where if I remember correctly it is him at a brick wall but one of his friends who got mad at him made it so it has an outline of a larger figure with an arrow that says something like this "my dad: I will never see him again" or something like that. I cried for him, literally cried. But you know gotta add some drama I guess.
