Strange World leans heavily into its environmental message, often framing technology and progress in a negative light, to the point of Greens propaganda. It clearly idealizes a return to a simpler, more primitive way of life, which feels unbalanced for a kids' movie and comes across as more preachy than thoughtful.
That said, the LGBT representation is handled well-natural, respectful, and refreshingly unforced. It's a shame that this positive step is overshadowed by the film's heavy-handed political messaging.
