The soundtrack slaps so hard, like you ain't ever seen. You should at least listen to Beep Block Skyway's theme (with the beeps added in).
Gameplay wise: The game is yet another advancement into 3D Mario history, but it just feels... bland? I mean, in comparison to Super Mario Sunshine, Odyssey, and Galaxy, it just falls too short. This is made up for partially in modern times via Bowser's Fury, which recycles A LOT of SM: 3D World, but that is essentially a completely different game added eight something odd years later.
*However,* when playing with friends, the game instantly elevates to an easy 5/5. I think that, since Nintendo was just coming out of the Wii, it logically made sense to have a couch co-op multiplayer social experience, and back when it only existed on the Wii U I actually managed to get the family together to play it and it was amazing... however, it's rather difficult to do, especially in today's times. The inclusion of a multiplayer mode in the Switch port does help slightly, but not everyone owns a Switch and not everyone owns a copy of SM:3DW which makes it a pain.
Bowser's Fury though? It absolutely rocks!
