Best VR implementation in a racing game by far - players helmet and other players' heads move so when you are side by side you can see them looking at you! Also the car's mirrors are all 3D (no other game has this) and reflect at different angles based on your head position.
The user interface is fantastic and you can access any of the menus (graphic settings, controls etc) at any time even while you are driving. You can easily share your setup with other players and when you paint your car skin it is loaded by the server so everyone can see your car livery.
The physics are very believable with detailed suspension geometry that simulates various types that are used on real cars (MacPherson Strut, wishbone, trailing arm etc) and the detailed tyre model with visible tyre deformation.
There are some weak points. The lack of real cars and tracks is a big shame and the graphics, while being worked on currently, are ancient looking. The development progress has been glacier-like over the last 10 or so years and LFS has been left behind in several areas. Examples of this are the unconvincing engine sounds and sterile environments.
Much of the player base has left this game and moved to newer, shiner looking racing sims. My hope is that the developer will open up the game for modding or add some real world locations and licensed cars. They could then release the game on Steam and possibly other platforms so that new players can be attracted, because otherwise it risks dying as a game, which would be sad for a game with such massive potential and solid foundation.
