I thought this book was super timely and really how crazy politics can change in a country and how totally unprepared we are in this world. I felt the book gave me so much to think about. I think it might give readers a sense of the realities facing people in countries if civil unrest and the judgements and biases we hold against people fleeing and what they go through a consider the decisions they make. What would I do as an education, mom of 3 in her position?
Also I felt the book was well written ( just to add I listened to this audiobook) it left open things for me to consider. I think it was 2 days after I finished the book I gained an aha moment about one of the family members. This book will sit with me for a long time.
It has been chosen as a book club novel for our Irish community group in my hometown in Canada.
