If I hadn’t read the books, I may have enjoyed this more. The characters were cast well, but the cutting down of the novels really took the power away from the storyline. It’s a shame as I adored Roland and Jake’s relationship as it developed in the novels, and we only get a glimpse of what it truly should be. My husband hasn’t read the books and so enjoyed it more. Maybe that is the lesson here, enjoy it as a sci-fi/fantasy tale and not as the movie of The Dark Tower novels.
