5/5 for a musical. There isn't much 'movie' in regard to plot and character development, but it doesn't take away from the experience. The Greatest Showman is all about the spectacle and it's fantastic at what it does. 99% of the songs are memorable, perhaps Tightrope is the weakest one (sorry Michelle!), but the ending is fantastic. Kids will love this movie. It doesn't drag either. They great straight to the set pieces. The biggest issue is the revisionist history. PT Barnum is a garbage human being who committed atrocities against his slaves. But if you can get over that, you should enjoy this musical.

3/5 rating for me. The idea isn't terrible, but some of the side characters weren't fleshed out and bogged the movie down. They weren't all that funny either. I'd say the movie gets better at the halfway point though, the minute they introduce real stakes to the situation. The ending is fantastic too. Really emotional climax to the third act that makes the formulaic 'all is lost moment' worth it. Would recommend, but it's not Pixar's best.
